FHN Health Clinic wins construction and design award
BROOKFIELD, Wis.,
November 10, 2008 – Hammes Company was pleased to learn that one of their
healthcare development projects, FHN Family Healthcare
Center – Burchard in Freeport, Ill.,
received Modern Construction magazine’s Best of 2008 Award of Merit in the
small healthcare project category. The
winners, including FHN, will be featured in the December issue of Modern
Construction and honored at an award luncheon that same month in Chicago.
Hammes Company
managed the development of the new 60,000 square foot addition to the community
hospital’s existing campus. The medical office building will accommodate almost
twenty primary care physicians and house several departments, including
pediatrics, internal medicine, orthopedics and occupational medicine and
therapy. This building is located off Burchard
Avenue in Freeport
and is currently scheduled to open its doors in 2009.
“This clinic expands FHN’s outpatient services, allowing
easier access to quality healthcare for its patients,” says Samuel Essak, Vice President with Hammes Company.
“Collaboration with the clinical and administrative leadership at FHN, along
with the development team of Ringland-Johnson Construction and the architect,
Larson & Darby Group, contributed to the success of this project.”
Other award winners include exceptional commercial
construction and design projects throughout Illinois,
Wisconsin and Missouri. Midwest Construction consulted an
independent panel of experts who organized the projects into categories by
industry, and judged the projects on quality, overall project management,
teamwork and service.
