Unique new MOB in Central Florida
BROOKFIELD, Wis. and OCOEE, Fla., Aug. 8, 2007– Residents of fast-growing central Florida will soon have expanded healthcare services thanks to Health Central and Brookfield-based Hammes Company.
The five-story facility which is being designed to connect to Health Central’s existing hospital, will bring 75,000 square feet of new outpatient and medical office space to the 85-acre Ocoee campus. The Health Central Medical Office building is the next step in a master plan for the hospital system’s growth. “This new medical office building will provide many additional healthcare options for the community,” says Greg Ohe, Senior Vice President, Health Central. “Hammes is a great company and we are looking forward to working with them again.”
One of the most unique features of the new medical office building (MOB) is that it has been designed very efficiently in its physical alignment with the hospital. The specialty practices in the building will be located on the same level as the corresponding patient care units in the hospital. Physicians officing in the MOB will be able to make more efficient use of their time, because they will be able to walk from their offices to visit their patients in the hospital without changing levels.
The building is being designed by Jonathan Bailey Associates and Excel Engineering, the designers for the existing hospital and MOB. It will have a unique architectural style that includes blocks of color. “The architecture of the new building is being designed to complement the outstanding architecture of the Health Central campus,” says Jim Young, Partner and Divisional Vice President, Hammes Company. “It will blend in beautifully with the colorful post-modern structures that are already there.” Hammes Company will develop and own the new facility. They are offering physicians ownership through an LLC opportunity.
