Client:
The Children’s Hospital (TCH) in Denver, Colorado was founded in 1908 with a mission to be the leading provider of best healthcare outcomes for children, and is currently ranked in the top four children’s hospitals in the nation. TCH is affiliated with The University of Colorado Denver.

Need:
Hammes Company was selected by TCH to be its real estate development partner in the planning and development of The Children’s Hospital North Ambulatory Care Center. This facility will ultimately be home to an ambulatory surgery center, 24-hour urgent care, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, sports medicine, sleep lab and various specialty clinics.

Solutions:
Hammes worked with TCH to select a site for the project, helping wade through all the variables involved with each municipality.  We provided strategic planning and volume assumptions, property acquisitions support, entitlements and project management for the design and implementation of the facility.

Results:
Hammes Company carefully reviewed a detailed study of the estimate for The Children’s Hospital North Ambulatory Care Center. As a result of this specific line-by-line review, we determined that many of the components included in the schematic estimate were for a more expensive range of finishes than was necessary. Because of Hammes’ extensive experience, the contractor reconsidered the level of finishes, ultimately resulting in a net savings to TCH of approximately $1.3 million.

Hammes has proven to be a great consulting partner. I always expect their expert advice and I have never been disappointed.
