The four-story 110,000 SF Medical Arts and Research Building (MARB) at the University's Health Center includes the Musculoskeletal Institute for care and research related to conditions affecting bones, joints and connective tissue. The Institute links clinical programs with areas of research and educational strength.
The building consolidates ambulatory rehabilitation and radiology services in one location, improving accessibility for patients. It houses an open MRI, the region’s first warm-water SwimEx therapeutic pool, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, as well as, clinical services including orthopedics, rheumatology and neurosurgery. It also is home to the Farmington Surgery Center, a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center.
Nestled into a wooded hillside, the building has at-grade access to its lower two levels and a footbridge that links the top floor to the main buildings at the Health Center’s upper campus. The project's aggressive timetable called for a guaranteed maximum price to be presented within 16 weeks of initial programming and design. Hammes Company developed and brought the project in on schedule and within budget.
