Phase I - Ambulatory Care Center and Medical Office Building
Hammes Company developed the 145,000 SF freestanding ambulatory care center, Aurora Health Center, for Aurora Medical Group in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Center includes office space for Aurora Medical Group and independent physicians. It houses five operating rooms, two cardiac catheterization labs, physical therapy resources, a comprehensive diagnostic unit, and a 23-hour stay recovery unit. The facility is completely wired for the Wisconsin Health Information Network. An innovative interior layout allows for staff cross-training and a subsequent reduction in staffing levels. An aggressive planning and construction schedule allowed Aurora Medical Group to begin seeing patients less than 14 months after groundbreaking.
Phase II - Inpatient Addition
Hammes Company assisted Aurora Medical Group three years later with the expansion of the 145,000 SF Aurora Health Center. The two-story, 98,000 SF expansion includes 43 inpatient beds and provides medical-surgical, intensive care, and obstetrics. An emergency department, urgent care clinic, community education center, cafe, and ancillary services were also included.
Phase III - Cancer Center Addition and Medical Office Building Expansion
Hammes Company also assisted Aurora Medical Group in the development of a 40,000 SF Cancer Center addition, and expansion of their medical office building that included a 48,000 SF second inpatient bed addition.
