Hammes Company celebrates groundbreaking of Emory Johns Creek hospital expansion

Milwaukee, WI, November 18, 2019 – Hammes Company, the nation’s leading healthcare developer as ranked by Modern Healthcare’s Construction and Design Survey, participated in the November 7th groundbreaking ceremony for the Emory Johns Creek Hospital expansion.

Hammes Company will serve as project manager for the expansion, advising on all aspects of the design, construction and occupancy planning. The phased, 65,000-square foot, two-story vertical expansion will add a fifth and sixth floor to the existing Emory Johns Creek Hospital. The expansion will provide additional clinical space, including 40 additional beds.

“In an effort to balance patient demand, Emory Johns Creek Hospital is expanding our space to enhance the patient experience, improve staff efficiency, and streamline care to offer the highest quality academic-based medical care in a community hospital,” says Marilyn Margolis, EJCH CEO. “This expansion emphasizes Emory’s dedication to the community and our efforts to help families heal, close to home.”

“The Hammes team is well versed in overseeing expansions in highly active, high-census hospitals like Emory Johns Creek,” said John Healy, regional vice president of Hammes Company Healthcare. “Throughout the project, our main priority will be ensuring safety and minimal disruption to hospital staff and patients.”

The construction team for the project is DPR Construction. The design team is TMPartners and Frandsen Architects.
