Hammes Company selected by Greater Baltimore Medical Center for hospital addition project

Milwaukee, Wis., July 16, 2019 – Hammes Company, the nation’s leading healthcare developer as ranked by Modern Healthcare’s Construction and Design Survey, has been selected as program manager by Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) for a new three-story addition to its current medical center in Towson, Maryland.

The new 101,000-square-foot wing will include a new main entry and lobby area with amenities for visitors and two new 30-bed medical units. The project is expected to be completed in summer 2023.

“After a careful selection process, Hammes Company stood out for its local regulatory knowledge and past experience on similar projects,” said Russ Sadler, manager of capital resources for GBMC. “We look forward to Hammes joining the GBMC team and partnering with us on this project of great importance to our community and organization.”

“We have significant expertise with projects of this nature where a phased rollout is necessary to ensure the hospital remains operational at all times with minimal disruption to staff and patients,” said Hammes Company Vice President Michael Killian, who will provide leadership for the GBMC project. “We’re delighted to partner with GBMC on this exciting project.”
