Oct. 31, 2016 –Senior Project Executive of Hammes Company, Michael Killian, presented ‘five factors for success in rural healthcare.’

This presentation dove deep into the navigation of today’s financial challenges through public funding, how to  assemble an appropriate team of designers, builders and project managers, and how to best gather consensus from passionate community members, all while delivering patient-centered care. Mr. Killian addressed specific project examples, such as how to create a positive workplace environment during construction and a case study from the recently opened, Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia. Mr. Killian’s presentation was held on Oct.31 from 9:45-10:45AM at the Marriott in downtown Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Killian has nearly 20 years of construction and project management experience, with the last nine years dedicated exclusively to healthcare. His primary responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, construction administration and project management.  Mr. Killian has been involved in projects related to a multitude of facility types including: Greenfield replacement hospitals, major hospital expansions, renovation projects,  ambulatory facilities, and specialty clinics.

Prior to joining Hammes Company, Mr. Killian had extensive experience leading A/E project management and engineering design.
