Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare breaks ground on Addison Health Center

ADDISON, Ill., October 25, 2010 – Earlier this month, Hammes Company participated in Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare’s (EMHC) groundbreaking ceremony for the new Elmhurst Memorial Addison Health Center in Addison, Illinois. The new facility will be located on the same property as the current Health Center at 303 W. Lake Street, just 20 miles west of Chicago.

“Our partnership with Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare dates back to 1995 when we first developed the Elmhurst Memorial Center for Health in neighboring Elmhurst,” says Hammes Company Vice President, Dave Connolly. “Their commitment to patient care in the local communities in which they serve is unsurpassed. This new replacement facility will enhance the care and programs currently delivered to the Village of Addison.”

The 55,000 SF facility is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2011, and will include enhanced services such as more physician office space, expanded laboratory services, radiology (including CT, MRI, mammography and general X-ray), and urgent care. During the development, the current facility will remain open, which will allow for a seamless transition for staff and patients upon completion of the new building next year.

The groundbreaking team consisted of several members of EMHC’s leadership team, including CEO, Leo Fronza; Village of Addison Mayor, Larry Hartwig; and Hammes Company President and COO, Rich Galling.

EMHC received approval on July 27 from the State of Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to proceed with the plans to redevelop the Elmhurst Memorial Addison Health Center.
