Hammes Company developed facility named as a “Top Project” in 2009

BROOKFIELD & SUMMIT, Wis., May 17, 2010 – Only one month after Aurora Medical Center held its open house and grand opening for the residents of Summit and other surrounding communities in southeastern Wisconsin, the new campus has been recognized as a 2009 Top Project by Wisconsin Builder magazine and The Daily Reporter.

“Aurora Medical Center is just another notable example of Aurora Health Care’s successful integrated care delivery model,” says Michael Scholl, Vice President with Hammes Company. “This new campus simultaneously provides patients access and convenience, alongside state-of-the-art technology and treatment.”

Hammes Company managed the development of the 117-bed hospital, attached medical office building and Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, which sits on a 53-acre campus southeast of the intersection of Interstate Highway 94 and Wisconsin Highway 67, just south of Oconomowoc. Hammes Company has been Aurora’s preferred project manager for the last 17 years.

"In the short time we've been open, we've received so many compliments from our patients and their families on the design and feel of this new regional medical center. The Top Project award is well-deserved and all of the architects, engineers and trade workers who created this wonderful place of healing should be extremely proud of themselves," says Fran Finley, Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer with Aurora Medical Center.

This year 30 other development projects were recognized alongside Aurora Medical Center across a wide variety of industries and sectors, including healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and infrastructure. Those chosen included projects in the state of Wisconsin that exceeded expectations in their respective communities, integrated new technologies into their industry, overcame challenging obstacles, or brought about a positive change to their community. All award winners were honored at a dinner last month sponsored by both Wisconsin-based news publications.
