Hammes Company tops healthcare developers list

BROOKFIELD, Wis., April 15, 2013 – Hammes Company has once again topped the annual list of America’s leading healthcare facility developers. Hammes Company completed projects totaling 2.9 million square feet and valued at $1.112 billion, according to Modern Healthcare magazine’s 34th annual Construction and Design Survey, released on March 18.

Two notable projects that contributed to the top ranking include St. Bernard Parish Hospital in Chalmette, La., and Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton, Pa. St. Bernard, featuring a $91 million, three-story, 113,300 square foot, 40-bed hospital and three-story, 69,000 square foot medical office building (MOB), is the first full-service hospital to be built in greater New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina, and opened to patients Aug. 20. Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, a full-service, acute-care hospital with 146 beds, opened in September. It is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certified building, designed to meet specifications for energy savings, water efficiency and improved indoor environmental quality.

Hammes Company has finished at or near the top of the list of top healthcare facility developers for the past 14 years, holding the No. 1 spot all but one of those years.

“We are very pleased to hold the top ranking again, and to have delivered some great and historic projects in 2012 despite the effects of the economic downturn,” says Richard Galling, President and COO of Hammes Company.

Hammes Company has always aimed to be the source of solutions for exceptional healthcare projects that answer our clients’ needs and contribute to their success,” says Jon Hammes, Founder and CEO.

“Being named the top healthcare facility developer validates that mission. In 2013, we look forward to another great year for Hammes Company, our valued clients and continued growth and recovery in healthcare development.”
